Alanine Aminopeptidase (AAP)
AAP is a hydrolytic enzyme. It's called alanine aminopeptidase. The determination of alanine aminopeptidase can be used as a sensitive index to evaluate renal injury. Serum <38u/(g·cr)(colorimetric method); Urine male 12.6 ± 3.77u/(g·cr); Women 7.65 ±2.46u/(g·cr)(colorimetric method).
Elevated serum alanine aminopeptidase: seen in liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic diseases. Elevated alanine aminopeptidase in urine: acute renal failure, acute nephritis, renal malignancy, renal ischemia, renal tubular necrosis, renal transplant rejection, and kidney injury.
Serum alanine aminopeptidase was elevated in pregnant women. The use of mannitol, dextran, cholic acid, sulfonylamine, aminoglycoside drug poisoning (such as gentamycin, cyclosporin, kanamycin, streptomycin, etc.) can lead to renal tubule injury and increase of alanine transaminase.
